you need to get the injector pump checked and repaired if req'd seems to be happening a lot with our tractors

I think the fuel shut solenoid has a "plunger" that slides into the injection pump and slides a "rail" in the pump.Mine had to be removed & rebuilt as it only takes a small amount of dirt or water to cause damage

My lift lever has been hard to move since new also

I have a 72 Buhler side discharge-seems to be fine other than a noisy bearing on an outside spindle

I have the 7274 (new since 95)and other than a starter relay issue it has been a great compact
I put Rotella synthetic in it as per people on this board & I run a 72" rear mower & a 60" rear blower & have about 650 hrs on it wouldn't part with it-4 wheel drive amazes me but you should like yours also

I have that model I use it on a Cub 7274 & it works very well-easy access to grease nipples etc

Every new Ford Freestar & Mercury Monterey has a "black box" & a disclaimer in the manual that tells you who can access it to download it for certain reasons.They are in virtually every Railraod Locomotive

My 7274 did the same thing & it had nothing to do with the starter at all
It needed to be rewired with a relay in connection with the ignition that cost about $15.00
I did it myself a year ago & have had no problem since.
I went through all the cables,removed the starter had it tested etc
But Ted at abbeywoods on this board led me in the right direction to fix the problem.
